Loudoun Coupons For Hope March Recap
Loudoun Coupons for Hope has had a busy month making a difference in the community! Early in the month, we had our Harris Teeter Coupons and Coffee event. Like our other Coupon and Coffee events, our organization supports your couponing by providing coupons and pointing out the best ways to utilize those coupons at the store with you. But the bonus of the Harris Teeter event was that it also took place on their special Super Double Coupon weekend, where every coupon under two dollars was doubled!
Every person who attended was able to utilize this event to support their family, and one attendee even reported that she was able to “save more than she spent!” which is always a great goal and accomplishment for those who are trying to make every dollar count. Another proof of the savings that can be racked up for those with the right skills and coupons was the cashier who said, “That can’t be right” after seeing the total so absurdly low once the coupons were deducted. It was with a smile that our founder, Gina, informed this cashier, that yes, the total was actually correct, and she walked away happy with how well she was able to use the donations for the upcoming D.C. event.
The other big event of March was our personal care drive weekend. Over the course of two days, we were able to give away 26 bags of personal care products to people who registered with us ahead of time. One woman shared how this personal care drive “means a lot to her, and helps a lot.”
This woman became passionate about saving money with coupons, and her friend shared with us how she went from a coupon skeptic to convert as she learned about the sheer amount of items you can get with so little money if you come armed with the right coupons and deals. Instead of laughing, now she impresses her own cashiers, like the one at Walmart that asked in an awed voice, “How do you do that?” after they saved over eighty dollars on one bill! These women exemplify the heart of Loudoun Coupons for Hope. We are passionate about helping people help themselves, and go out and find their own deals and savings as well as sharing the ones we find!
Also, at the personal care event, we were able to bless one young mother by giving her a no longer needed stroller, and will be keeping in touch to help provide for her and her baby in the future.
Next Month:
The main holiday of April is Easter, and we are working hard to connect struggling families with a few goodies to fill their kids Easter baskets Sunday morning without it impacting their families negatively. If you know someone near Loudoun who could use some support, please connect them with Gina atloudouncouponsforhope@outlook.
The biggest event of April is on the 14th, when we will be having our “Feed D.C. with Coupons” event. Gina and our team are headed out to bless the homeless with breakfast, on a weekend where the holidays mean less food for those on the streets. You can make a difference with this event by sending breakfast items, coupons or monetary donations. It is people like you that can make it a truly Good Friday for those on the street in Washington D.C.
Follow Loudoun Coupons for Hope on Facebook for more events in April, including our Coupons and Coffee events that pop up quicker, based on the deals the stores release. We appreciate your support in making this non-profit a blessing to those in Loudoun and the surrounding areas.
We would also like that to thank our donors this month! A big thank you to Target Dulles 28, Target Sterling for donating gift cards to our personal care event. Thank you to Starbucks Ashburn Farm for donating coffee and tea to our personal care event. Thank you Community Church for donating to our personal care drive and Feed DC event. Thank you St. Matthews for offering us a place to hold office hours and for inviting us to your Community Lunch! Thank you to all our donations of goods and products from so many of our local families!
