What Has Loudoun Coupons For Hope Has Been Up To This Past Summer ?

With September starting, and kids going back to school, summer is coming to a close. We have had a busy couple of months and were able to bless several different communities this summer with the support of our Loudoun Coupons for Hope contributors!

We had a few Super Doubles Shopping events this summer, and enjoyed the bonus of Harris Teeter Coupon Doubling days. Shopping is such a chore, but can be made into a fun social gathering when you join Loudoun Coupons for Hope. Plus, we act as your support, teaching you how to use coupons and even giving coupons to people who need them. If you haven’t joined one, and are apprehensive about using coupons yourself, we encourage you to come out and join the next one if you are local.

We had three community pick up days this summer. Our first was in honor of Father’s Day, and focused on helping the community with some men essentials. Second, in July, we had a summer essentials community pick up. We focused this one on sunscreen, body wash, and other supplies that are necessary when you are spending more time outside or at the pool. When thinking about low income families, most people don’t stop to consider how even those bottles of sunscreen can make an impact on tight budgets, so we decided to take that stress off local families. Our third community pick up day was a school essentials pick up. Those bags full of school supplies, though so important for school, can really add up at the store, especially for families with multiple kids. We were so happy to pull together with our donors to make an impact in all of these families lives this summer. If you have an idea for a future community pick up day theme, please contact us, we would be happy to consider your suggestions.

Our big community event was taking ice cream to firefighters. We are so appreciative of everything they do, and yet so often, they go unacknowledged. What better way to bless people who are always dealing with heat than to give them a cold, refreshing treat. We also brought little homemade cards to these brave individuals, and hopefully made them feel blessed. This event was made possible with the help of Christina Fedak and St. Matthew’s Little Hands Big Hearts.

Loudoun Coupons For Hope is also aiding Hurricane Victims. We have donated 5 boxes full of personal care items to a church in Houston LCFH will also be headed to Target this Sataurday to purchase hurricane relief items to drop off at Jhvanna’s Salon in Ashburn Monday 9/11. Jhvanna’s salon has a truck headed out to Texas 9/13! We are thrilled to be able to donate supplies and utilize the huge amount of coupons Loudoun Coupons For Hope has!

Christina Fedak also took on a new Facebook Lives series where she taught our followers how to save money at Harris Teeter and how to save money on date nights! You can watch her videos on Loudoun Coupons For Hope’s Facebook page!
